When the Smile Fades

This photo was snapped just moments after spending the morning with my daughter and niece at a fashion show. We had a blast walking the runway and looking at all the fall fashion trends.

Fast forward to two hours later and my smile had faded. Pain and fatigue busted down the doors and once again covered my world.

Living with a chronic illness means picking and choosing. It means laying low and storing up energy for the next outing. It means saying NO when you really want to say YES. It means hiding under the covers for hours waiting for the pain to subside. It means taking the time for yourself to allow your body to heal.
Days of rest can be long and lonely. The isolation of retreating to a safe spot is frustrating. While this process is lengthy, I am surrounded by a support system that is ready to catch me when I fall. One day at a time, I am rebuilding and getting stronger. Shout out to my prayer warriors and battle buddies. Keep fighting!!!

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence (could we insert grit?), so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 #livingwithgritandgrace #adrenalinecrash
