I Feel like I’m Dying

“Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete—a corkscrew-shaped bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi. Lyme is called ‘The Great Imitator,’ because its symptoms mimic many other diseases. It can affect any organ of the body, including the brain and nervous system, muscles and joints, and the heart.” ~ From LymeDisease.org
Lyme Disease is millions of microscopic corkscrew bacteria that drill their way through skin, muscles, joints, bones, nerves, organs and brain tissue causing out of control inflammation and a myriad of disabling symptoms.

IMG_3049People who suffer from Lyme may appear “fine” on the outside yet feel like death on the inside. Simple tasks become overwhelming. You begin to hide from the world. Getting out of bed requires a whole new routine just to get your body moving. Evenings seem to be rough as I fight through the day to do the things I want to be doing. Tonight pain and dizziness have a hold on me. Both of my dogs know when I am not feeling well and they will not leave my side – that’s Chico (aka Mr Smallz) in the picture taking his job of making me feel better very seriously.
I choose to share my story to help educate about the realities of Lyme that many people hide from. I also share for my friends who are fighting battles of their own. Friends who appear “fine” on the outside but are screaming on the inside. Each of you reading this have your own story. You have your own battle you fight. Life is a journey. Sometimes we want to fly through the “hard” chapters of our book to race to the happy ending. Perhaps those hard chapters are the times we should sit back to reflect on where we have been and where we are going. God has not only read your story, He wrote it. Trust knowing that He’s got you no matter what! God’s got US!
